Congrats! Pretty nifty after just about one year in this format, and what, about 3 or 4 in the original blog? You all have gotten a lot done. I humbly thank you all for letting us share your daily lives, not just your creative ones.
Too bad I can’t sign up again to get you toward it! lol
Wow and it’s only a month a so since you were closing in on 900 (which is when I joined). Who knows how many members you might have by the end of the year.
The more the merrier—for certain. We’re such a diverse group…we discuss everything from pond gardening to faster-than-light.
I remember when we were rounding on our first hundred!
now if we could only get the pond to fiction as a faster than light drive we would be set π
argh darn predictive text fiction = function
Or is that ‘fission’? π
Now those are some *interesting* thoughts!
Neat that you are nearing 1000. I think you were around 300 when I joined less than a year ago. π
Happy Days (Daze?) π π π
It is an exponential explosion of effluvial empathy.
And we have such fun doing it! π
I signed up today. Brenda
Welcome in, to all our new people! You are number 996. And I am not a ‘bot! π
I’ve alternated my day between a scene with Cajeiri and applying a mattock to the weeds in the front lawn…and getting our FSC (figure skating) membership stuff in to the rink, and our coach’s. And what not. They keep asking my parents’ approval on blank after blank—makes you feel soooo welcome. But we don’t care. We fill it out assuring them that, no, we don’t have an orthodontist, we pay for our lockers, we pay for our national membership, and for our local membership (we never use club ice, anyway: our coach isn’t about to get up at 5 am to give us a lesson on club ice—we’re the lunch bunch)…and we hope to get through this digging up of the front lawn in time to get a little skating in this summer. I don’t think it will happen—but hey, we can hope.
Ok since you are so close to 1000 I’ll stop lurking!
I have enjoyed your site very much for quite a while.
Have enjoyed your work for much much longer. Had a great
impact on my life in my younger years. Am looking forward
to many more years of great things!
Hello!
That’s great about getting up there to 1000 followers!
I’d like to add that the new issue of Vision: A Resource for Writers is up (http://www.visionforwriters.com) and once again C.J. has taken part in the questions for authors seciton. So did Lynn Abbey this month, so stop by and take a look! (Thanks for letting me promote it here!)

π and we are now officially noticed by the spammers: our wheezing spam protection, which has only caught our honest members until now, finally bagged one spammer…a pathetic and very obvious catch, a little one, on a par with the late and unlamented Ilostweightaskmehow…but definitely a catch.
Welcome to our de-lurked and proper new members, a very warm and happy welcome. We’re gaining on it!
Just de-lurking for a second to say ‘hi’ to all and happy day for our soon to be 1000+ member count, and I’ll add an especial hi to zette, who I know from the Nanowrimo boards – tho I’ll doubt she knows me, since I generally lurk there too. π
Hope everyone has a lovely holiday!
Waving hello to fellow insane NaNo person! You realize we only have four months left to prepare, right? (grin)
Ok, done lurking. Well, at least partly!
Welcome, welcome!
I’m glad I joined just a few weeks ago.
Now if the pond scum does happen to become sapient and invents FTL…it could be awkward, explaining how you really didn’t mean that crack about “scum of the universe.” LOL. One hopes the plants and protista and such are not too bothered by the neighbors. Protesting protista? The mind boggles.
Note: No recreational substances were involved in the writing of this post. OK, well, chocolate and non-diet Coke, but hey, live a little, right? :p
Congratulations!
Who knows? The pond scum might be good company. LOL. Green, anyway. ;P
