One does not doubt so. But your previous statement is only about what you did (could?) not do. It is entirely devoid of current information, is it not? ๐
ok, i just gotta ask, any chance you 2 slender ladies would consider dragoncon in hotlanta in the near-ish future? not this year but maybe in next year or the year after? you have fans on this side who would absolutely LOVE to meet you!!!
Ooooh, I would seriously love that! When we retired, we moved here from Santa Monica 5 years ago, mainly because of my son’s love of his little home outside Atlanta and because of DragonCon. I do enjoy going every year, although hubby’s hip replacement might preclude a lot of the walking this year.
Indeed, you and Jane are tops on my authors I’ve read but have never met in person. You did me a kindness when you were still in Oklahoma and sent me a signed copy of Hestia. But, since 1994, when I picked up a copy of Foreigner to read while on a flight, I’ve read all of your works and have re-read Foreigner (the whole series) many many times, loving how you weave you love of language into a wonderful political thriller. I took Latin for many years, junior high, high school and college. I have enjoyed your books for many reasons; but the language, the love of language is my No. 1.
๐ There’s kind of a gap in conventions between OKC and Atlanta…there’s MidSouthCon, which draws from all over the region, but we had trouble there traveling with our cats, and we don’t want to go back to that hotel, principal problem.
I understand. We travelled across country with our 15 year old kitteh when we moved here. She was a serious trooper, though. We’d just open her carrier and she’d hop right in. We stayed at the La Quinta chain across the country, and they were very accommodating. Moses crossed the rainbow bridge in 2010; and after a bit of a wait, we were adopted by two litter mates, Sir Miles Davis and Ms. Cleo Laine. They are the joy of our life. Well, our son holds a nice spot; but he’s ten minutes away and not the jealous sort.
I wish our new home was bigger because I would invite you to stay with us between cons. If you’ve not been to D-Con in a bit, you will be amazed at how it has grown.
Huzzah! You finally moved past that thrice-cursed plateau. Onward and downward, ever descending…
We have one big conference (not officially a CON) in the fall, the Maui Writers’ Conference. One wishes that, one year, they would turn it over to science fiction and fantasy writers. That would be about the only time Hawaii would see anything like a real con; otherwise, the expenses and logistics preclude ’em.
Yeah … onward & downward.
But, Madam, that is a most ambiguous statement! ๐
We are losing. Losing, I tell you.

Lost some weight? I think I found it . . . sigh!
WOOHOO!!!!!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!! and yes, onward and downward!!!! ๐ ๐ ๐

It’s not wholly out of the picture, but right now Soonercon is about as close as I’ll get this year.

One of these days, I’m going to make it to SoonerCon. One of these days!
