I swear ultrasound has side effects. I just fairly well collapsed when I got home. Due to that or the fact our sky is going that peculiar shade of not quite a color but verging on brown that indicates Idaho is burning.
I think I’m going to spray some Lysol about and see if that wakes us up.
There’s a remote chance of rain. That would be helpful. We need the rain, too.
Lysol? Flowers, herbal tea, fruit? Well, whatever works for you.
The brown might be from NE California. Cal Fire is busy busy busy.
More likely they’re getting some from Oregon. We’ve had several going. (One near Portland thought to be from some yahoo shooting a tracer round at a former gravel quarry. 😯 )
Had no observable effects from my abdominal ultrasound. But yesterday had several lesions & actinic keratoses frozen off. One on my cheekbone has led to swelling tender tissue of the lower eyelid. Forearm has a helluva blister!
Given the fact that the docs used ultrasound to break up scar tissue in my knee, I’d have to figure there’d be unwanted effects even for imaging applications.
I can’t tell if the brown here in LA is from fires or just the usual byproducts of our insane traffic.
All ultrasound means is it’s too high frequency to hear, like ultraviolet light is beyond our ability to see.
Continuing the light analogy, I’m pretty sure breaking up the scar tissue was like using a magnifying glass to start a fire. But it only starts a fire if the focus is exactly right, which is what lets them focus exactly on the scar tissue. By contrast, if you look out on a sunny day–the imaging application–no harm is done.
You are more than welcome to some of our rain. Here west of the mountains, it hasn’t stopped for three days. (Grumble grumble – typical Pacific Northwet weather)
