But next Saturday is forecast to be partly cloudy and a high of 72. Crossing fingers this is the case. We could also do with mild wind.
Blue skies and still cold out there….

Noting that one of the roads to Cheyenne WY is shut in whiteout conditions this morning—winter is not giving up easily!
They’re also seeing snow in Denver.
Good God, still snow??? Our low of 40° on May Day tied a record, and we’ve had lots of upper eighties, maybe a few nineties. I hate to see the lovely days of April go, but Texas gal that I am, I prefer a hundred to zero (though I think you don’t, and that’s one reason you live in Washington, which now has the considerable side benefit of allowing Saturday’s ceremony. Not yet in TX, and even less in OK!)
I hope the weather pundits are right for you.
I love snow and ice, and I love winter, but I also love our garden blooming and our fish out and swimming. 😉 I do miss the big storms. Up here, water kind of sifts down gently.
I have to confess it was in the 70’s (Fahrenheit) today on the New England seacoast, with tulips and lilacs and violets blooming. After replying to some student research paper drafts, I went out and planted some cone flowers (eckenasia sp?), cleaned the bunnie’s cage, cleaned out our small water garden and got the pump working and put out the patio chairs near the water garden. Oh, and picked tasty weeds/greens for the bunny, Petros, a couple of times and tender blades of grass I don’t know how many times for our cat, Mousie. An indoor cat, he follows me from window to window when I am out, meowing that he expects treats and please hurry. He finishes at the window by the front door. When I come in I get mugged and have to hand feed him grass, blade by blade (ok, I admit I am a sucker). My final trip through the garden this evening (such a gorgeous day it was hard to remain inside), I was greeted at the front door by Mousie and Petros, each demanding fresh picked treats! …A lovely day, the entire household agrees.
What a nice day, indeed!
It was only in the 80’s here in the Tx panhandle and fairly still for the flatlands. Supposed to get down into the 60’s on Tues, but will be back up in the 90’s by the week end when I’m going to be schlepping my kitchen, computer and closets to the new digs. The predicted high for the day the movers come? 100 of course.
Oh, my! Well, it beats torrential rain—at least there’s that!
Hope that the weather cooperates! And, even if it doesn’t, I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful, memorable day!
I was supposed to travel to Salt Lake City today, but my flight was canceled because of weather conditions (in Denver and points west, I presume, or maybe the overheated fan that blew smoke into the FAA area in Chicago). We’re not getting snow (south central Wisconsin), but the lows will reach the upper 30s at least once this week.
