Wind gusts to 50, but not the 100 of the forecasts. Our trees can take 40-50, no great worry.
Tired this morning. Maybe going to get a nap.

That’s good. Last thing you need is another 8 day power outage when the weather is starting to turn cold.
We got down into the 30s last night here in West Central Ohio. The northeastern counties were under a frost advisory for the first time since April.
(BTW) off-topic, I sent an email to Jane and you both a couple of days ago, I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to read it. It was a question about how you and she use WordPress.
As your feline residents no doubt advise you, a nap is a good thing. Fourteen hours is what a cat thinks is the minimum daily sleep needed for good health, of course.
Consciousness. That annoying time between naps.
Wol, I’m afraid I may need to steal that line. It’s too good to abandon.
I’m glad to hear kitties and staff are okay. I was worried.
Yesterday evening, after dark, I thought I could dash out to put out a bag of trash. Nope! Goober (Mr. Least Assertive Cat In The Universe) darted Outside! OK, not too worried, he’ll come right back in when the door is closed and a car or such like goes by. Alas, no, he was in the mood for a walkabout after dark. (He did this some years ago as a “game” a few times. I stopped going out the door after dark to curtail that.) So I checked on him every few minutes, then 15 to 30 min., then hourly, as I had chores to do anyway, so I was up. …And then, worried, I stayed up and checked more often. Finally, at Oh-God-Is-It-Really-That-a.m.? (More chores as distraction) I stayed out a while and called him. (I’d already been prepared for the possibility he was long gone. THere’s a major road just outside my subdivision, one street away.) At last, the fuzz-brain comes in, of course, none the worse for wear. “I knew where I was, what’s your problem? I went on walkabout. It’s a cat thing.” Hmm, he was, however, glad to be back in and lie down where it’s much quieter. (And get fussed over and petted.)
I am very glad he came back and I didn’t try to sleep, then wonder in the morning (all day, evening?) where he was or if he’d show back up. But I still had a sleepless night. Sigh. In his defense, Smokey (Mr. Assertive) has been badgering him lately, plus I’m doing odd, non-routine things, cleanup and prep for eventual move if/when to an apartment. So he had reasons beyond the feline, “Dark, Outside, It was there, so I went to investigate!” But geez, cat, couldn’t you have been happy with being out yesterday morning, supervised? At least he’s OK. (No sign of fight, etc.)
How canI get such a cushy deal? Nice places to sleep, meals catered, lots of attention, that’s the life. Ah, well, I’d get bored being fawned ove. Possibly, so was he. :shrugs:
Very glad kitties and people and fish are OK at your abode. Lows here may dip to or below 60 next weekend. Maybe. 80’s and some 90’s here, daytime, still. Not unheard of, but pretty warm for this time of year. Mostly sunny. Dunno whenwe’ll getrain next.
He decided it was time to channel his inner ‘Cat Who Walks by Himself’?
Could be, he’s reading Kipling. I watched the 50’s(?) film version of Kim a couple of weeks ago; the one with a very young Dean Stockwell as Kim and Errol Flynn as Mahboub-Ali. I loved the book as a young teen. So perhaps Goober was in the mood for his own Just So story. 😉 (It threw my sleep/wake schedule off, I slept some yesterday, but am dragging around today, can’t sleep, but not worth much awake. That Darn Cat — oops, that’s a different movie. 😉 Goober is back to business as usual and Smokey is back to hassling him. So, situation normal, such as it is. LOL.
Goober aka “A Friend to All”……
We got GOBS of rain, but NOT the wind they were threatening. We had a good 10 inches Thursday here, then Friday was pretty mellow, with another 10 inches this weekend. Turns out my yard FLOODS but it drains pretty fast. High-tide line on my raised bed is 6 inches up, so I’m glad I made the beds 20 inches deep!
