Muggy and overcast, threatening rain, but since I got an umbrella at lunch, it will not come to pass…

Raining here, now, and apt to rain for several days. They’re saying the Polar Vortex is likely to recur this year, which means less snow for us, more for the Great Lakes.
Interesting, and we may have an El Nino year now. I recall the NOAA site saying we weren’t going to have a recurrence of the PV a month ago. Shows what forecasters know, eh?

Try to persuade the restaurant that steaks should be pro-rated according to the birthday: ie. the greater the birthday, the larger the steak. Talk slick and you could end up with leftover steak sandwich on Saturday. Happy Birthday, Jane!
Bearing in mind that she still want to get the remaining 37% off, she could still end up with a “leftover steak sandwich on Saturday”, no? 😉

So how was the steak and Jane’s b-day, otherwise?
It was very good. I had the big steak, and wished I hadn’t: I don’t think I’ve eaten that much steak (about 10 oz) in years, and my stomach was not quite sure what to do with that.
They do a mean peppercorn sauce.
