Sigh. I so love the snow.
And I’ve got to get some black pepper for that raccoon, though I haven’t seen tracks since the melt began.

I see where there’s a winter weather advisory out for your area today (Thursday, Jan 21). Avalanche warnings on the west side of the Cascades, too.
Looks like rain in the Spokane area right now. Hopefully that won’t turn to snow. We got about an inch of snow here in W. Central Ohio Tuesday night and Wednesday. Right now, it’s just cold.
it’s Wednesday, Jan 27, I’ve been having off-and-on issues with connecting to this site, as well as Jane’s. I can connect to other sites with no trouble, but I get the “The connection has timed out.” message and a reload doesn’t bring up the page, either.
Server issues?
Looks like it. I’ve had issues, too, the last one just a couple seconds ago with an nginx (sp?) error message. Something is going on here.
I don’t know what’s going on. The server is in Florida, and they’re not one of the biggest, but they are big. It’s not like the time we ran the site locally, (they flooded, lost power, and had a power cord going across the parking lot to another building…which would fail every time a big truck ignored the warning sign and drove across it.) We’re at least better than that. Lynn’s had her hands full lately. I’ll ask her what’s up when she has time.
I’m curious. You’re using WordPress for the site-building. Are you using a WordPress server to host your site?
I’m considering moving my kendo club’s website off the provider that it’s on and changing the format over to something like what you and Jane have on yours. I’ve also seen that format on other sites, but I don’t know if WordPress-built sites would be compatible with our providers servers.
I checked with my hosting service, they offer WordPress, but I’m leery about installing it on the server, because if it’s going to wipe out what’s there on my website right now, then I’m going to be hard-pressed to get that stuff back.
Well, I do have backups of the website on my computer here at home, but watching the tutorial videos, I’m not sure that if I do install WordPress, my whole website will go down the tubes until I rebuild it or reload it.
THis wordpress site is only a ‘pagelet’ on my website.
My worry is that I have an existing site, and my hosting service says that I use the URL for that site. If I do that, I’m afraid that the WordPress pagelet will remove everything else that’s already on that site.
I’ve put in a support ticket to Tech Support, but somehow, I think they’ve got a dragon there, because it’s apparently eaten my ticket. I’ll have to resubmit, I guess.
I noted troubles (connectivity and missing bits of pages) Monday night and Tuesday morning, but by last night it seemed to be all OK.
Black pepper for the raccoon? Do you have a recipe you’d like to share? Will one fit in a crockpot?
Lol—I buy large cannisters of HavaHeart pepper for spreading about where the raccoon might show up to go fishing. 😉
Is there a difference between the HavaHeart pepper and the large containers of black pepper you can buy at say, Costco?
Probably only sanitation and slight difference in grind. HavaHeart pepper is not certified as food and is a tiny bit coarser, maybe more resistant to moisture.
