Today we do battle with the sink base, and will be without water in the house until we get it right. If we don’t get it right, we and the cats will be spending the night in a hotel….but we think it should be just an hour’s work to get us the temporary (old) sink and the dishwasher back in function.
Colors on my monitor show a little lighter than they are—the wall is a coppery apricot and the floor a slate grey. The pulls will be copper in a Chinese key pattern.
Looks really nice so far – and I like that lattice-pattern front.
I really like the cabinet front!
And we have water again, and an appointment with the countertop measurement guy on Dec 13th. The garbage cabinet pops out under power as it ought, and we have no water leaks!
Huzzah! May the rest of the install go as smoothly.
I really like that cabinet front. Big fan of Arts & Crafts style. Interesting color combination. I can’t wait to see the total effect, and shots of the finished kitchen.
Seems rather “50’s Modern” to me.
I like your Santa-Guin!
Awww, you saw through my disguise! Thank you, M’Lady.
We had one cabinet come without doors—we had come with the wrong doors because it’s supposed to be shorter doors with 2 drawers. And Lowe’s, thank our designer and Scott, who showed up on a Saturday to help us through this crisis, is going to advance the money to buy the proper cabinet, take back the wrong cabinet AND we get to keep our date for the countertop template meanwhile by having the same size/wrong configuration cabinet in place but not screwed down, and then they’ll slide in the new ‘right configuration one’ take away the ‘wrong’ cabinet, and we pay the difference–or not. They’re going to try to work us a deal. We’re getting a new drawer face for the one that arrived with a shaker design on the desk build; and a ‘finished’ skin for the inside of the kneehole, all no charge. So glad we’re not trying to do this from a catalog or on the phone.
Glad Scott is there to assist you through this. Having a competent handyperson makes the job go so much more smoothly.
Your handyperson deserves hugs and a cape!
Just replaced the toilet valve this morning. When our water bill went up by half again, we figured out the little hiss from a slow leak in the valve had slowly gotten to be a louder hiss too big to ignore. I don’t need to mop around the toilet today…
I’ve been sidetracked the past few days. Working on it.
@WOL — I’ll get back with you; intended to sooner, but I’m sidetracked.
@chondrite — Oh, wow! I received a package today (either on my doorstep today or several days in the p.o. box) and haha, glad I realized what that was, so I could put it out of reach to the two feline units, or (LOL) it would have been very interesting when I discovered this. — I have not yet unwrapped the other item; saving it. — Hmm, how to let one cat play with the catnip toy without the other one getting grabby and hissy and stealing it, thus inviting, ah, not-peace-in-our-time. 😀 They will love it. (These two have “hidden” the prior catnip toys in the apartment. I have not yet found the hidey-holes. The pkg. was an awesome surprise, and I got a great kick out of the card and am looking forward to opening the other.
For the first time this season, we are expected to dip below 40 tomorrow night. I actually have had to turn on the heater for tonight (gasp!) because it may get down to 41 or 40; presently, it’s 42.
The cool fannish item I’d ordered is (I hope) at the apt. complex office, because it (worrisomely) did not arrive at my door. Hoping to find out tomorrow.
The small baggie of ‘herbs’ is in fact catnip. I wasn’t sure if the toy would be too prone to being destroyed, so thought I would include some of the raw product to sprinkle on an old toy or the carpet, thus distracting the party of the second part.
Well, good. I was wondering where you had gotten to, BCS, and gotten mildly worried.
I told Mama that the snow followed me home. Maybe if we don’t feed it, it will go away.
