Hmm. Audible.com says the audiobook for Emergence is finally out! And I have a spare buying credit. Yay!
Jane has posted twice on her blog recently. Also Yay!
Oh — Resurgence is in a final editing pass by CJ? (See right-hand sidebar.) Yay!
Ooh, ooh, ooh! — Alliance Rising is at the publisher’s, awaiting a something-or-other! Yay, yay!
And the Alliance History ebook is awaiting that publication, so it can be released on Closed-Circle.net. Cool!
— Uh-oh. @CJ — When I visited Closed-Circle.net just now and clicked in the left-hand sidebar, there are graphics in the center column, sometimes text — but no links or images or titles for books or ebooks! This is most unfortunate. — Just a heads-up to you all. (Specifically, I checked the Belt Miners, Orion’s Children, and CJ’s Solo Novels links.)
I see I need to double-check and reload onto my Kindle, the pair of Heavy Time and Hellburner, and the 3 Russalka books.
So…what else did I miss? (Alliance Rising is not yet available for pre-order. I keep checking. Not like I’m anxious or anything….)
I’m seeing nothing but title/header and footer in the center column in both Firefox and pale Moon. There’s code for Heavy Time and Hellburner, but it appears to be stuck in the right sidebar somewhere. – it’s in div=slideshow, down below Chernevog and Faery Moon. Nothing in the code under center column on that page.
Doing a happy dance here, too bad I don’t have any of my stickers and GiF’s to indicate that. Will have to just use my words. YEE HAW ! To celebrate, going to go start listening to my e-book of Emergence while I hand quilt. I’ve been saving it for a special treat.
I rarely do it but I have a commitment to finish up. And if I am sitting with the needle going and my buds in, not as likely to get my listening interrupted.
Funny (as in “surprising but nice”)—I just finished doing some hand quilting for the evening, and was dropping in to CJ’s blog for a moment before going to bed “early” tonight as the US clocks annoyingly “spring forward” this evening. I like the extra light in the evening but not the darkness in the morn.
Tomorrow I am helping out the Massachusetts Horticultural Society construct their exhibit for the big Flower Show this week and want to be rested before I have to head out of the house in the morning…. Mind you, dropping into the blog and dabbling in the Internet is no way to get to bed quickly!
My sweat pants have side pockets. So do the flannel “lounging” pants I use for pajamas. Every time I wash them, without exception, the pockets get turned inside-out and stick out like ears! That seems strange.
Well, it’s those hyperspace pockets, you see. This could be where the missing socks go.
And yeah, what is it about sweat pants and lounge pants? Empirical observation notes duplication of results. (Mine do that too.)
I still recall a short story in one of the Catfantastic anthologies in the 80’s, involving a cat hero who braved the vortex of some trans-dimensional portal involving those missing socks. There was also a short titled, Thragun Neklap (or Neklop?) involving a warrior cat, and another involving a cat who magically gives up cat-ness (cat-hood?) to become a human, out of love for the human. I can’t recall for sure if all those were in the same volume. There were about five volumes, all told, maybe six, with many new and many experienced SF&F writers involved. The covers were Renaissance paintings, redone with cats in the poses. A very fun and worthwhile series of reads.
I’m still trying to figure out what side effect of increasing entropy flips sweatpants pockets AND t-shirts inside out in the wash. Socks, OTOH, are in a more or less stable configuration no matter if they are inside out or not on hitting the washer; their teleportation at some point during the cycle is another matter entirely. 😀
My boy has exhausted himself from jumping for joy. Now if I could only append “complete”s to my projects. . . Chondrite, the missing socks time travel to a laundry basket in my mother’s house during the first decade and a half of my life. About once a quarter, my mother would dump the basket on the dining room table, screech “MATCH THESE”! and march away. It was sad how many time-traveling socks never made it back to their mates (not that my mother ever knew). I’m sure there’s a universe with a happier sock ending (smirk).
113% complete?
Noticed? OooOOhh, did I miss something cool?

Chuck is working on improving closed-circle’s functionality.
Resurgence at 100% !!
YES-YES-YES, oh loyal crew! We are finished! I am just tidying up typos and trimming the loose ends.
Woohoo! I am so looking forward to this one. 😀
Wow! Huge congratulations to you!
Ah, so many wonderful new books to look forward to!
Lots of ‘completeds’ on the right side, and sometimes more than complete!
For a minute there, I’d thought you said, “trimming the jump vanes,” and I got all excited all over again! 😀
Looking forward to all three when they’re ready. Oh, the waiting!
Thanks to Chuck for working on the site. Here’s hoping Closed-Circle.net will be ship-shape and in full sail soon, all ready for jump.

Oohhh, hand quilting! I only bus’ that out occasionally; most other times, I let the machine do the walking 😀 Of course the cats like to help too.

Yes, I find going to the computer before bed and cause the loss of an hour or so. Not to mention the time shift.
I have noticed! Some strange physics goings on!
