….are up!
Think of Blood Red Moon as the Starsky and Hutch of vampire stories—Jane will kill me for that; and Rusalka is a ghost story.
Happy Halloween, all!

Downloaded and extracted perfectly… I’m retreating into reader’s nirvana!
😆
Rusalka; Blood Red Moon; and Ring Dancer: Alizant are now sitting with my ebooks, ready to read.
Yay! I’m really looking forward to this read. I think Rusalka was the first CJ book I bought in hardcover – by then I’d worked my way through the Cherryh back catalogue and I was way too impatient for the paperback to be released.
I really enjoyed Rusalka the first time around, though I’ve not reread it for years. What’s stuck with me is the atmosphere – all dark moodiness, I could really feel everyone’s stress and confusion. At the time, I remember reading avidly to the end and then thinking: That was wonderful, but *what* exactly happened? I thought it was me being dense, but maybe this time around it will all be clearer…
I didn’t actually buy anything at CC this morning, but wanted to comment on the spooky background, which is quite elegant but makes it very difficult to read the “site navigation” on the left and the prices of the books. I was able to decipher them by scrolling till a light patch was behind what I was looking at, but it was annoying. If it were my first time there, it would not have been a positive experience. (Of course perhaps the spooky background is only up for a day or so, and not an ongoing issue!)
On another topic, glad you are both eating so well and having desired results. Sounds as if exercise is happening outdoors as you put everything to bed for the winter, hope the fish are ready to settle into a “long winters’ nap.”
Well of Shiuan’s book cover was voted one of the worst book covers of all time. Personally, I kind of like it. This site specializes in bad cover art. Thought you might want to check it out, they seem to like picking on your covers.

All these covers are pretty tame to anyone who remembers the covers of the pulp magazines of the 1940s and early 50s. Sample the entries for Planet Stories or Startling Stories at http://philsp.com/ to see what I mean.
Not to be a killjoy, but… I followed the link to CC, I found Rusalka listed and promo’d… but where’s the link that lets me buy or download the thing?
This is as close as I got: http://www.closed-circle.net/WhereItsAt/?page_id=1005
Am I too blond for this?
Did I misunderstand this as a release when it’s really a simple announcement?
(unlike MOST fiction, I like yours enough to spend money on it… help! 🙂
Our fault: we need to have a buy link on that page! We’ll get it: but the trail others have given you is valid, too, so I hope you could get there.
OK, via the tips from others I got to a place where I could pay… but $5.00 (listed with the item) isn’t the same as $9.95 (shown in the shopping cart).
FAQ: “Is there a price difference between full/mini?” As in, I don’t need the answer so much here as clearly stated when I go to purchase…
KEEP IT UP, tho. I know these little details can get annoying (I work for a web company!) but eventually it all comes together. 🙂
oh, dear. It’s 9.95. I’m going in to find that one.
Here’s the link to the bookstore page: http://www.closed-circle.net/WhereItsAt/?page_id=5
Enjoy!
Follow the link to CC. Click on CJ Cherryh. There will be a drop down bar at the top of the page. Click on Book Store, Payment Options. This takes you to the catalog where you can make your selections. At the very end of making your payment there will be a space for messages. Make a note as to what book(s) you are buying by author so the payment goes to the correct person. You are *not* too blond; :-D. My first online purchase from B&N will not be quickly forgotten! 8)
Lordvorp, can you give us a link to where that mistaken price is? Jane and I have both been through everywhere we think there could be a price listed and we only find the 9.95 price.
Well either I misread it or you’ve found & fixed it. But it’s correct now!
😆 lordvorp, you are not losing your mind—I’m sure you visited about the time I was in there editing like mad: we had determined on a price increase when Alizant went up, still hadn’t implemented, and I took care of it—just at the very time you were trying to buy something. My profound apologies!
How cruel of you ! Just at the beginning of the month, when I just got my paycheck ! How do you dare ! 🙂
In the middle of “the Paladin”, I’ll have to buy both …
As an aside note, is there a way to get the designs used at CafePress ? Living on the other side of the pond, I’d prefer not having to pay the transatlantic Shipping cost and use an other merchant’s service to have my own mug…
You could perhaps sell the pictures/designs files with a “one shot license” directly on CC, the same way you sell books ?
Let me ask Jane, who is Mistress of the Images. That’s not at all a bad idea!
I finished BRM Sunday, and am half-way through Rusalka. I’m taking my time with Rusalka, because I’ve already read it once (pb bought over a decade ago) and am now reading for nuance. Once I finish R, I’ll go back to BRM and read it more slowly for the nuances as well.
Rusalka was the first book of yours that I read, I have to say, I absolutely love the trilogy. I find the ‘stream of consciousness’ writing style to be incredibly unique and interesting. I have never read any books like them. I was constantly guessing the outcome of these books, questioning character’s motives, constantly wondering if Chernevog really was evil, or just misunderstood. Whether accidental wishes were the cause of the entire plot, wondering who wished what. I would love to see more books like these.. The imagery has really stuck in my head, so few words, yet such vivid scenes. Very interested to read the re-writes, hopeful that they don’t lose their fascinating unique style.
