We were impressed. Loved the take on new science. If you liked the original you are likely to like this—so to speak. We put it on to take a look, fully intending to see a few minutes…and get to bed at a decent hour.
Nope. We watched the whole thing. And were happy.
OMG, I forgot something… I’m a week late. Fortunately, I’m not on the east coast–I had to get out the hoses and water today! I mowed this weekend–a good month early. So in honor of what we have not had this winter…
Appreciate anime recommendation, thanks!
Was going through a stack of books, discovered where I’d set aside my old copy of Wave Without A Shore. I will confess I have not read it. As it’s a short novel / novella, I’ve vowed to read it. I’m in the midst of a reread of the Chanur books, and want to finish at least Inheritor before the next Foreigner comes out.

Audible lists the new Tracker audiobook available for pre-order! (I pre-ordered.)
Amazon and Audible still(!) don’t have the cover art showing for Tracker. I wish the publisher would wake up about that, as they have to have it by now. Someone’s slipped up. Un faux-pas, mais important.
I have both the ebook and the HB on pre-order.
Also discovered the Complete Morgaine for pre-order (ebook) due out in September.
Chanur’s Homecoming is still not out in ebook form, but Chanur’s Legacy is, leaving only Homecoming (and the Saga and the Endgame) as yet to be released. Not sure why they omitted / delayed on Homecoming, but will be glad when it’s out in ebook.
When I finished my reread of Pride of Chanur, Amazon’s Kindle app helpfully recommended several other books, among them, the Steerswoman by Rosemary Karstein, which sample was so good, I got the ebook to read later. Also recommended was Sharon Lee’s Carousel Seas, which I’ll read later too.
I might get to go to ApolloCon this late June after all, and I’ve just found out Jim C. Hines will be the Guest of Honor. Not a lot is up about the con schedule at the con’s website, but usual con features are listed. It’s a new location this year, and…well, I’d really like to be able to go.
Never saw but pieces of the original harlock, but I enjoyed the CG movie when I saw it on netflix
Just got a recommendation from Amazon, of my own books, addressed to me. Mmm. Robots. The future is here, and they are just as predicted.
Maybe you should write a review of that book, giving it glowing reports, saying that it should be nominated for the Hugo, the Nebula, and the SFWA Book of the Year, etc., etc., etc….then sign it “CJC”…..
I wonder how many people would catch that…….
Bots….I wonder if Azimov predicted this and if there were something he could have added to the Three Laws to prevent it……
Whee! At least they were recommended. Positively. 😀
Earlier in the month, ~two~ automatic services sent reminders to me to send happy birthday wishes to…myself!
I was similarly impressed.
But hey, if the robots like us, that’s good, right? 😀
Oh, the wonders of the modern age! 😛
Also on a positive note, at this rate, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about SkyNet or the Matrix or the Borg any time soon on Earth.
(Got WP? Read on!)
HELLO! HELLO. Hello, hello
Quiet here lately!
A vulnerability in the SEO plug-in “in over a million websites” has been reported here.
Well, I don’t think we’ve got a SEO plugin, so that’s good.
Since the lenovo superfish business, apparently there’s new nastiness out there to worry about. There’s something called komodia that’s spreading about, apparently a redirection or hijacker type bot.
In the new cyber-seas, there are, of course, other than honest sailors out there. Py-rats and no few krakens.
Best protection we’ve found in general is Norton. There was a period when I swore off Norton, because there was a period in which it was glitching up something in my installations on a whole succession of computers. Now it’s playing nicely with others, and has been thus far very good. Had AVG for a while, the paid version, and then it failed us: it failed so badly we left it with two years yet to run on the license. Had Avast freeware, and it failed. Thus far Norton has been good, and that’s been for longer than either of the previous.
Rather of topic, but saw some very sad news today. Terry Pratchett has passed away. A lot of gentle humor and laughter has left the world.

Has anyone else noticed the cover for TRACKER is finally on Amazon.
Yes, and you can read pieces of it as well. They leave out a page here and there.
lol a page here and there, and some rather sizable blocks in the middle, but SQUEEEEEEEE!
SOrry to hear about Pratchett. I met him briefly years ago; he seemed a very bright and nice person.
