And our garden pretty much looks as it did that day, when we used it for our location. The orange/fire colored azalea is twice the size it was, we have glorious blooms out of 4 tree peonies, the red hawthorn is festooning its branches in pink like a Maxfield Parrish painting, and the Japanese maples are doing their thing quite happily.
We went out to celebrate last night. Alas, our Outback Steakhouse decided to undergo some serious negative changes, assuring we won’t be back there—just not the quality they used to have. (Sauted mushrooms, dear chef, are plated with the steak and not served in a large bowl of onion soup. It was so bad we decided to have the dessert course at the Swinging Door and had carrot cake (way too much of it!) and champagne. Which despite 4″ of rain and being soaked did not dampen our spirits a bit.
Happy, oh, yeaah. Five years and loving our situation.
Good. Many more happy memories to come!
‘Grats, and forevermore.
Congratulations! May you have many, many more.
Congratulations, and wishes for many more happy anniversaries!
(and also wishes for Outback to get its act together)
That’s awesome. I am glad you have someone special in each other.
I want a world where it is just as OK for same-sex couples as it is for boy-girl couples.
It’s not the world, it’s the folks who haven’t figured out that it is none of their business unless they aspire to be a partner in a relationship.
Congratulations, and many happy returns of the day.
I am glad that you two are happy. May the best be yet to come.
Five years. Well, hope the next five years are even better.
Happy Anniversary
Wishing you both very Happy Anniversary congratulations! It’s a joy to see a relationship work 🙂
CJ, your garden sounds so lovely. Those flame yellow, red and orange azaleas are difficult to keep alive here in PA, although the other forms do well. I suspect it’s the cold, although some people have success. I’m not a skilled gardener. When I was a child, we had a dark rose hawthorn tree in our yard. No one knew what it was, no one else had one … as little ones, we pretended it was covered with teeny tiny roses grown by fairies 🙂
Dining out has become less and less attractive. Last week, 7 of us decided to go out for a bit of supper after our grandson’s spring concert. Problem 1: Our first 3 choices weren’t open on Tuesdays ??? Problem 2: The Ramen noodle house needed to make more broth so they closed early LOL. Problem 3: The half empty brew house said we’d have to wait at least 30 minutes for a table. After waiting 30 minutes, they came out to apologize and said it would be … longer. Grandson’s friend came out from inside to let us know they’d still not be served any food after 50 minutes. Solution: Have a researcher for a daughter 🙂 She walked us around the corner to the Wyndham hotel inside, sit down, white tablecloth and flowers, quiet and lovely farm to table fresh cooked food restaurant, where we were treated very nicely, and had a perfectly wonderful light supper. Who knew? My daughter, who is wise, wonderful and had been there before. Glad your carrot cake and champagne rescued your dinner!
I remember going to a major movie at one of the famous theaters in Hollywood. We got out and, because it had started fairly early, wanted to eat. The nearest restaurant (fairly well-known), almost next door, closed at 9pm. Which, when movies are getting out at 8;30 or 9pm, is telling a lot of people that the business isn’t interested in their money.
Congratulations on a successful five years — and here’s to many more!
Congratulations and many more to come
