When my youngest daughter gave me a daughter-in-law, the cake samples came in the same containers. Here’s to the next 56!
Felicitous wishes for many years to come!
Felicitations to you both. And may you have many more years together.
Wishing you both health and happiness always.
Kinda gives a fella hope there still might be a nice winsome lad out there meant for him…. He’d better be looking for me, because I haven’t had a very good track record of looking, and might not know if I did find him….
It’s good to know some folks find that right someone! Bravas!

Your partnership is the best basis ever for a long and productive marriage. Congratulations on your nuptials, and thank you for sharing the news with us! (Hugs are flying your way, even now!)
Wow! what a wonderful announcement !
27 years we’ve been together. And been friends and exchanging letters and ideas for about 30. Washington having voted the domestic partnership into a married status and proposing to change partnerships to married automatically in June—we thought, heck, no, we’re not somebody’s book-keeping problem. Let’s do this ourselves, our way, with style!
You guys will get pix. Definitely. We wanted to do this after the fence; but before the deadline; we wanted to do it when the garden’s in bloom. But once we did decide, we moved fast: picking the cake—1 day, lunch. Picking the music and getting a photographer? We’re asking friends to bring cameras and guitars. Handling the food 2 days, 2 lunches: we’re getting it from our two favorite pubs and they just need 48 hour notice. Decorations? See: cake. See: garden. See: fence. Wedding outfits? You’ll be surprised, I think. Officiant? We have ourselves an actual judge. But we think it’ll be pretty, and meaningful. I mean, after 27 years, it’s maybe time to tell each other some things that too often go unsaid.
I will raise a glass in your honor from Florida! Here’s to many more years of a wonderful partnership of two lovely writers.
Congratulations!! I’m really happy for you both.
5/17 seems like a felicitous date to be married. 🙂
My sincere congratulations and best wishes. I’m so happy that Washington state caught up with their immediate neighbours to the north and allow marriage. And after 27 years, it’s time and more to make an honest woman out of Jane. 🙂
I’ll lift a glass of Talisker for you.
What a happy day. Congratulations! I hope that the sun shines on you that day and that you are wrapped in light and love.
Every so often in this wacky old world, something wonderful happens and reminds us all that we, as a society, are capable of moving forward.
Congratulations!! Happiness always! 🙂
Da Aspie sez: Been expecting this for more than a year! 😉 (AskJane.) It’s a very good, i.e. logical, practical idea. I’ve heard horror stories of “domestic partners” locked out of important decision making in various states, at various hospitals, in spite of all powers of attorney, medical directives, etc., because such decisions were only allowed to spouses in the state’s and/or hospital administration’s rules.
Hot damn! Ladies, you go! I agree 1000% with Paul; it will add another layer of security should the infelicitous happen. Besides, it’s a good thing.
And now I’m just going to be grinning like a mad thing the rest of the afternoon.
Congrats! Excellent news.
Wishing you both much joy and laughter, happiness and light! Congrats! Andwhile the practical side is so important and I can remember there being concerns for you two several years ago, I’m hoping for some giddy silliness too.
Congratulations!!! I’m so glad you can celebrate your partnership. May you have many happy years together.
Congrats to both of you for this wonderful event! So thrilled. I’ve been walking around all day with a silly grin on my face because I’m so happy for you. One hopes to see you both in June in OKC; I’ll bring a nice bottle of bubbly for you both.
Marvelous news. In the words of Captain Jase, Incandescent.
Glad to hear of another US state recognising domestic partnerships in this way.
Best wishes from another married couple (28 years) and we hope the weather elves are kind withot the wind that delayed your fence.
Well I definitely didn’t guess the secrud. May you have many more years together. Re the tux measuring, I thought an award for one of you but this is way better. Enjoy your big day. Sounds like an excellent plan and we hope those localish framily (excellent word Jane) make your day even more special.
To echo chondrite, big grin at work. People are going to ask me what I have been up to.
Congrats to both of you! I shall raise a glass of port towards Spokane this evening!
