If I understand Atevi numerology, 27 is as felicitous a number as possible: 3 × 3 × 3 or 3³.
Congratulations and best wishes to you both!
I suppose it is also felicitous for two to become one. 😉
Congratulations!
May you both have all the happiness you deserve!
Thank you all. You are so kind to us. We are going about this in a party frame of mind—we don’t expect a ‘perfect day,’ in the parlance of the wedding shows, or ‘exquisite attention to detail’ or the perfect anything, hey, it’s us, and we improvise!…we just expect a fun day, a day of cake and bubbly and wine—oops! We were going to pick up wine! And we think we are going to get tablecloths—height of elegance! The pond is in good shape and our missing fence panel is in town and will get installed tomorrow!
Mostly—we are making our status official and getting legal rights for ourselves, so we have the standing to take care of each other forever, and that’s a wonderful circumstance, that we can now do that. We just can’t get hit by a truck in the wrong state.
Time to grab some of your favorite Latah Creek, mmm?
Are you sure you want to go to the “wrong state”? 😉 Well, in any event, you should have a stronger legal footing. One might suggest having 3 officially certified copies of the marriage certificate. One for each of you when travelling, and one at home in the “safe place”.
Adding my congratulations. Best to you both!
This is such wonderful news! Our wedding ceremony was anything but grand or elegant – I think I purchased a new belt for my outfit – but we cared not a whit. It’s the partner and the marriage, not the ceremony, that is important. And sharing your love with each other. Here’s to many annual celebrations of the day!
It’s late and the brain doesn’t always work so well. Partner and marriage *are* important (not “is”). Oops!
Best wishes to you both.
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you both, and I wish you a very lovely day – and many happy anniversaries too!
I normally just lurk, but I wanted to de-lurk and add my “Congratulations”! Normally I’d echo what Kafryn said (I usually put it, ‘The wedding is just one day; marriage is a long-term commitment, and *that’s* what’s important’), but I think y’all know that already. 🙂
THE ANNOUNCEMENT brought an immediate simile to my face. I am so happy that you and Jane are able to celebrate your relationship as legally as hetero couples do.
Continuing Joy and Happiness to you Both!
Woot! Wowee! Congratulations! I wish you both joy and happiness. May your future be bright and fulfilling.
This is wonderful! Congratulations to you both!
My most sincere best wishes to you both! I hope you have a lovely day with friends who care about you, and I envy your cakes! They sound so good! And I’m grateful that some places in our country are finally enlightened enough to allow any two people who love each other the same legal standing that has been given to male-female couples since time immemorial. Maryland finally legalized same sex marriage in 2013, which made for an interesting tax filing season as we combined all those single peoples’ returns this year. (And do let your CPA know so he/she can take it into account for 2014 tax planning – it WILL change things)
Congratulations to you both! Best wishes for the day and for the future.
How wonderful! Congrats to you both.
I take it that the rings will be borne, or at least tried on and played with, by certain house elves?
Is a hat! No, is a belt! No is a braceled!
Baldric, izzit.
One suspects that certain house elves might use them for sword-hangers, if improperly encouraged.
You’ve got it! Wiishu is bery seeryus about it all and will endeavor to keep Pook’s enthusiasm in check. 😉
Let me add my wishes for happiness for both of you.
oh, wonderful! Congratulations and have a nice fun ceremony! I’ll be thinking of you guys.
I would just like to say:
There is no such thing as ‘too much cake’.
May the sun shine gently and the winds be light upon you.
All the best.
