The follow-up to the last colonoscopy (3 in the last 365 days, not to mention abdominal surgery) reports the latest biopsy is clear. No problem. Jane and I are, yes, happy! I’ve been so often in that clinic this year I’m about to demand a brass plaque. Not to mention the lingering effects of chemo. But I am clear. Officially, no call-back until next year.
Tested clean.

This is from the Dust YouTube channel. It’s high CGI ortotal CGI (like the link) or mixed CGI and live action SF. I liked FTL (though as usual, put on your damn helmet!)

I wonder if BCS could be a successful YouTuber or podcaster. One podcaster I noticed gets US$7k / month from Patreon. BCS is talkative enough.
That might be an option; I know that BCS does voiceover work and occasionally narration.
If recording/narration is an option I have a friend who has good luck working from home for years now by doing narration work via ACX. She does a ton of romance novels as there’s a big market for that, but I imagine there’s all types and lengths needing narrators as Audible, iTunes etc is ever growing. Recording some samples and starting small is key as it’s a marketplace that match up authors and narrators of various budgets and quality and building a good rep. Having reliable internet would still be an issue. Here’s the link.
Another all CGI story, but fun:

From the Family Fierendly playlist, a not totally GCI video:

Ya know, rights permitting, chapter readings of, say, Rusalka could be the basis of a good podcast/YouTube channel/Patreon. (And I need to get back to Rusalka!)
CJ & Jane, This is the most wonderful news … Congratulations! Stay safe, and CELEBRATE 🙂
We’re hunkered down here, trying to stay safe. Any appointments were postponed, cancelled or handled online etc.; I stocked up ahead on necessaries and BOOKS. I got that book you recommended, Hanneke! Grandson has been online schooling since March 2020 now; the components to build his own desktop computer back in June was my one brilliant idea LOL & has made school & getting together with friends “live” to play games online easier as has careful ice hockey and mountain bike skills and hiking. We added a GoPro for XMas 🙂 His Dad got the best gift, his 2nd vaccine dose yesterday to our immense relief; he’s a paramedic with terrible exposure. Stay Safe All
Hanneke, Thank you! Loved The Hands of the Emperor, and found the sequel, The Return of Fitzroy Angursell. The next one will be At the Feet of the Sun, and will feature Cliopher again, but I can’t find any information about when it will be available, or even if it’s been written yet.
@nighthawk, I read somewhere that she’s writing it now, so no publication date yet.
Fitzroy Angursell is very different in style and tone than “Hands”, a short picaresque set of adventures, but still fun to read. There’s also a similar in tone short story about the Emperor’s time at six- or seventeen in “The tower at the end of the world”.
The two (so far) about the sisters Avramapul are also good. (Background for Fitzroy Angursell.)
I just finished In the Company of Gentlemen. So exciting to find a new author!
