And we’re having it installed.
We tried to fix the old one, put in quite a bit of effort painting and fixing, and it gradually just sank out of true and now requires a lever to get it really seated so we can lock it. It’ll be ok for a while, then start deforming again until we can’t close it. Which is a security hazard.
So today—we get a brand new storm door. And we’re not touching a screwdriver, nope, nope, nope. I swear, doors are a pain to install.
forgot to ask, front or back door? I don’t recall you having a storm door on the back, so by process of elimination (and logical reasoning), it must be the front door….
Front. The old iron grating one is just falling apart.
The new security doors from Lowe’s and Home Depot are quite nice; you can put a deadbolt on one and leave your main door open all night to catch the cool breezes. Any homebreaker would have to bring a cutting torch or a good set of lockpicks.
We have a door — it was late, but it looks nice—not quite as sturdy as the security doors, but certainly a nice change from one that won’t shut!
Some suggestions:
Hwan sumer is i-cumen in — You can say it’s The Door Into Summer. — But what you do if bucke ferteth and herte sterteth is up to you!
Speculate on What’s Behind the Green Door?
Decide what to do if I saw a red door and I want to paint it black.
All, naturally, while listening to something appropriate by The Doors….
I was all set to include a Tolkien quote too, when I remembered it was a grey stone, not a grey door.
