I’m not sure how this works, but we are up. Some of you with phones may notice better functionality—the inability to resize was one of the reasons the old site was wheezing.
We are functional again.

that’s interesting, I had to change my password to log in, but then it let me log in properly
Logged in with no problem! Hurrah!
Also had to re-set password, but obviously, it worked! Good to be onboard again, hope the distraction hasn’t been too bothersome !
PS — we do have the “I’m not a robot” reCAPRCHA box need to post replies…
also working from iPad!
So, we’re back, I see
So I made it in. I do like the koi very much.
I will eschew the many witty comments on entries as I have forgotten them.
Jonathan up in NH where the snow is almost gone.
I’m also finding new things. It’s easier for me to add members. They apply. I approve. Much nicer.
I could wish the grey type on the comment box was a bit blacker. I hope this does not pose a problem.
I’m also, I think, going to have to make a rule that you have to e-mail me personally before I’ll approve a membership.
The login screen says that now.
Yay! Good news on a couple fronts then. Yesterday I had my spinal cortisone injection. I’ve been having lumbar nerve issues for six months or more, more on than off. Actually it was four injections, facet joints of L4 & L5, right and left. I’d gotten some relief from Ibuprofen (about equal to the prescription Etodolac), often 2x200mg with breakfast and dinner, 200mg booster at lunch (80% of the recommended limit). I was too distracted to change my costume yesterday. Today I chose a snide comment on our winter weather this year. Don’t have a leprechaun. ;( (Are smileys working again?)
I agree this grey on gray needs much more contrast. And we seem to have lost the “Preview Post” capability. This reCAPTCHA box doesn’t give one enough time at all if one checks it first. It too quickly timesout.
SMILEYS NOT WORKING, BUT OMG! WE HAVE EDIT!!!!
There seems to be a 30 minute timer running below a post, different times if more than one has been made. Meaning we have 30 minutes to make up our mind about editing or thinking twice about it and deleting it?
Still, I’ve wished for EDIT since I’ve joined! No matter how many times I look at it during entry, typos are sometimes sneaking past.
Is there a reason why we have to use the Recaptcha box in order to make a comment? It shows me logged in, but even so, I still have to tell it I’m not a robot?
And I posted and it actually gives me the opportunity to edit the post, BUT, I have to tell it again that “I’m not a robot.”……
I also have to do the robot thing, and I’m not sure what the security implications are of dropping it. It’s a gatekeeping measure to prevent spam posts, and we’ve already had attempts to crash the party. I’ll have to confer with the person helping us with the site on that point, and I will, because our comments are short and the thing is a nuisance, particularly in that it times out while you’re typing.
Joe, I think I’ve fixed that. That level of security is just a wee bit high for a ‘comments-based’ blog.
Do you have Jetpack installed as a plugin? I noticed this theme is called “Divi”, and WordPress says it’s their most powerful theme.
If it’s a responsive theme, as most are nowadays, it should work with just about any platform, mobile, tablet, or desktop.
I didn’t see the reCaptcha this time, so whatever you did, fixed it.
Thanks….
I’m finding something about this hard to read. Did it used to be sans-serif? Because that is how it is displaying. And the grey on grey is a bit…tentative??
According to the WordPress Codex, if the website was designed with a particular font and you don’t have that font on your platform, it will show up as a generic sans-serif. I think as she gets it fine-tuned, she’ll get the small details worked out. The hardest part is over, now it’s just a matter of cleaning up small things……
I didn’t have to reset my password, so that part worked. And I see what you mean about the grey on grey comment box.
I logged in using my usual password with no problem! Hurrah!
Comments are white on blue, but at least it let me in. I’m viewing and commenting in newsfox which showeth no picture.
