…as if a thin white meringue had landed from the skies over every twig and bush. Wet snow. This is the time, if you have arbor vitae, and we don’t, you get out and tie cord around them to keep them shaped like candle-flames or you have fountain-shaped arbor vitae come the melt.

The wearther’s gone mad, I tell thee. Or the forecasters have had entirely too many “spirits” of the season at the office party….
Our local forecast increases to a high of 82 or 83 on Christmas Day with a low of 70 that night. Then between Sunday and Monday, they predict we’ll drop to a low in the mid-40’s, with a high on Monday of about 57 or 59. Uh, 70’s are not entirely unusual highs for around here on Christmas, though we can get freezing temps too. But in the 80’s? With a low of 70? Eegads and little fishies! (I haven’t looked to see if that breaks records.) It just seems so off. Even the Monday prediction seems high, but is more like our milder winter periods. Oh, and we’re supposed to have sun today (not happening so far, rain coming in later.) Then four or five days of rain, then sunny on Monday.
So…. Well, it should be “a might int’restin’ ” for a week or so.
CJ, I hope you and Jane do fine over the holidays. I’ll be around as usual. Very good that y’all have groceries and supplies in.
And here in on the East coast it is going to be very warm and rainy. Where is my winter? I am back to cotton slacks instead of my usual winter garb, and sleeping with the bedroom window open.
