I’m still hand-entering new memberships because of the spam problem—it takes far less time than fussing with the spammers.
I did real well yesterday—had energy and all; but today, meh!
It SNOWED, would you believe? It’s going to snow tomorrow. It snowed yesterday! Where was snow when we wanted it, this winter? No. Now we get it, after St. Paddy’s day, which is just WRONG. We have tulips, magnolias, cherries blooming, and tree peonies and Japanese maples leafing out. We’re feeding the koi. This is not right!
Welcome in, All!
It does sound like Mother Nature is a bit confused in your neck of the woods. She seems to have it figured out here – we had a long night of rather violent thunderstorms. Well, March did come in like a lamb this year, so…
One hopes all your lovely buds and flowers come through safe and sound. Our pear trees and forsythia have finished blooming; we’re looking forward to the dogwood’s blooms – our version of spring “snow,” in Atlanta.
Regarding the Foreigner books, a question: is there any possibility of Banichi (and, therefore, Jago) being related to Cenedi? Just a couple of scenes in the original book that, on re-re-re-re-re-reading caught my attention and made me wonder. (Or is this something everyone else already knows and I’m just getting it?)
I think that I recall that Banichi is Southern while Cenedi is Eastern.
And if this should be with the spoilers please remove.
Snow out of season seems a drastic breach of kaibu. One ought to bring this up with the Management of the estate.
When my parents retired to west Texas, they were told not to plant the garden before Easter, because there so often is a freeze (or at least a frost) right about then, to the point where people assume it’s going to happen.
The big crops in that area are corn and cotton, with vegetables (potatoes, onions, peppers) right behind, all stuff that likes warm weather when it’s planted.
I offerred everyone snow this winter — genuine Boston white stuff — but did anyone take me up on it, noo!
It’s practically a Midwestern tradition — the first half of April usually brings a howling blizzard, after which the weather begins to warm.
It’s tornado season here in Oklahoma. The one that came through last weekend destroyed bald eagle nests and fledglings.:(
Rain here in West Central Ohio…they’re predicting anywhere between 1 and 3 inches of rain over the next day. I hit several patches this afternoon where it was pouring pretty hard and caused minor flooding on the roads.
Welcome. More points of view gives better definition of any object or subject.
‘Ne’er cast a clout til May be out’ – never quite sure if that meant May blossom or the month.
Welcome in, all!

Jane doesn’t post quite as often, but when she does, it can be a doozie. Or other times, it can be plain fun. Her latest couple of posts have been the more “thoughty” (thoughtful) variety. (“Thoughty:” very old word, no longer so common.)
Welcome in all! Just a reminder that we will be having a ShejiCon mini convention this summer in Spokane. For more info and to sign up your intention to attend go to the last tab above the Wave Without a Shore banner entitled “ShejiCon V Planning: Get Info: Ask”
Off topic: will you be getting some Tracker hardcovers that we could buy from Closed Circle?
If so, I’m hoping to buy one and ask you to sign it for my dad. (Fingers crossed)
O yes please! One likes to plan ahead for Christmas gifts…
I should get some. And I will do it for Wave members. We are going to be so superbusy this year that I don’t know if we will advertise them on CC, but for you guys, I’ll let you know when they’re here and we’ll get it done.
Thank you! I know it means extra trips to the postoffice, and you don’t need the hassle of lugging all that weight around and unpacking & packing them, so I’m properly gratefull for your kindness in this.
