…was a bit of a haze.
The night before, Jane and I and Lynn blasted numerous waves of undead (Guild Wars 2) and then Lynn, on the East Coast, went off sensibly to bed, while we, on the West, decided to watch a little TV.
Jane and I discovered, on Tivo, the Hell’s Kitchen finale and 2 hours of the Project Runway beginning, plus a new opener of Who Do You Think You Are and a Nova Special on the Australian Silurian.
Well, thank goodness we only watched Hell’s Kitchen and Project Runway, and checked the clock.
I stayed awake way past my witching hour, and once that happened—well, I think I measured my actual sleep Thursday night in 15 minute bursts, about three of them. I did not so much as wake up Friday morning as give up and get up.
I didn’t sleep during the day. I just kept going, but I’m certainly going to re-read everything I wrote during Friday.
That very rarely happens. Thank goodness. I felt like a ton of bricks had landed on me. All day. Come evening, I decided to hold out until actual dark, because I didn’t want to get my hours skewed around.
I am glad to report I slept Friday night.
I do hope I’ve never killed you in PvP there!
Lol—I haven’t done PVP much. Mostly we do PvE. I run an elementalist, level 80, mostly fire. I have other characters, but he’s the most fun, heaviest hitter. Elementalists are hard to get up to serious firepower in GW2, but he’s made it, finally, once I get the skills to use his weapons to best advantage.
I’m slowly leveling up an engineer. Trying for once to enjoy the journey rather than the end game. I’m quite impressed at how many things GW2 has got right compared to other MMOs that I’ve played in the past. When I finally get to level 80 I’ll have to watch out for anyone “CJ” like toons running around in a robe.
Oh the Centaurs in GW2…I thought they were shouting for Taibini until I checked the text more carefully
Lol!
If you want to find my elementalist, he’s Dresuros, Guild is Minions of Grenth, and he’s a good looking blond carrying a winged staff and wearing pounds and pounds of gilt and white robes. I’m thinking of running another elementalist, but the long slow road to world domination (or real command of the elements) is so long it’s daunting.
He went from pretty ordinary to something else during the Battle for Lion’s Arch—he gained some real good stuff, and managed to be one of the thousands of people who have killed Scarlet. Now he’s involved in the fracas that have vines popping up here and here in the landscape and likewise working his way into the higher areas. Trying to bring him up in the crafts, but resources are hard come by!
Did you reread Friday’s work? Did you manage to trawl up anything interesting from the Sea of Haze?
Actually I did pretty good. But I did rewrite it today, just to clean up some stuff.
Feeling much better today!
Any creative writing I’ve done lately keeps trying to add things to the main story-universe I’ve been trying to flesh out. Only, when you’re trying to write something else entirely, and get what is clearly an idea for your original stuff, not in the story-universe you’re writing in, original or fannish…that is both thrilling and maddening at the same time…if my convoluted run-on there makes any sense whatsoever.
I need to sit down and outline a story for that, rather than writing down bits and pieces, fits and starts, as they occur to me. I think I have a story-universe fit for multiple stories…but I need to focus on one story and get it done. …And the darned universe keeps morphing every time I write new things. I suppose that’s how it is for a beginner/wannabe.
This week has been odd: After errands Tuesday, I’ve been half as energetic, if that. Wednesday was a blur. I got some done. But then I didn’t sleep that night until nearly dawn. So Thursday, I slept and slept and finally got up, ate, and was semi-useful again. I ended up recording audio lines (good!) rather than studying as I’d planned.
I somehow missed a delivery, slept through any knock or doorbell…or else it never arrived at my doorstep. I have to find out what happened (and where my Delivered Yet Never On My Doorstep package got to…one suspects someone else, driver or stranger at a wrong address, has it.
Friday was also a blur, trying to get back into things, but still iffy. Both days were complicated by iffy stomach, etc., probably from too much fruit or pre-roasted chicken from the store. I think that’s OK today; I’ll know later tonight.
I spent today on web-geek and fan-geek stuff, still in early stages, not yet rolled out. Dorky but fun for me.
I’m taking a break tonight to watch the latest episode (The Last Ship) plus I want to rewatch an ep or two of Dark Angel and/or Space: Above & 5, if I can find a missing DVD of each set.
After that, if I’m not sleepy, I’ll read in one or two manuals/textbooks, trying to get new web skills (SVG, EPUB3, PHP).
At least, that’s the plan. As with Farscape, the plan may change.
I’m very excited for Star Wars Rebels this October, and looking forward to Doctor Who at the end of August, and The 100 in October. (Note: Mixed results with The 100. One recommends turning off one’s story analysis mode, in order to enjoy the show unpuzzled. Though they seem to be mending that. Season 1 was good enough to make me want to see Season 2.)
Ah, the feline-unit sends his greetings and says it’s past his suppertime, thanks much. Tea’s ready! (Constant Comment cinnamon-spice.)
Tried to watch two shows, but a story-something is nagging. I’m going to write!
Didn’t locate discs. I may order anew. There are two other sets missing a disc, still to check on, later.
